They say that everything in New York is happening either 1 floor down or 5 floors
above the ground. When it comes to the avant-garde art in New York City,
it actually occurs on the 20th floor of the Conde Nast Building.
We are talking about The New Yorker gallery, the gallery that belongs to a legendary The New Yorker Magazine.
Under careful supervision of visionary curator Stanley Ledbetter
you get a chance to witness the twists and turns of the modern art finding a
total harmony next to each other while proving once again that New York art
world is more alive than ever. Where else can you find the sculpture depicting
the average nuts-and-bolts (literally) New Yorkers, that is made of the ruins of
World Trade Center or one of my favorite - Victor - a
suprematist looking red lamp with it's base as a mouse trap with a
pile of Russian rubbles for the bait. This creation by
Owen Phillips along with many other amazing things you can find online
at www.ledbettergallery.com.

Somethere on 5th Avenue - Dancing with Photography
That March night, at the gallery loft on 57th Street there was no need to discuss 'dichotomies', 'incremental' or
'reductive treatments', ‘juxtapositions’, 'fabric', 'elements' or 'basic truth of human existence' – it
was simply a dance performed by visual artist/photographer Mikhail Baryshnikov & his friends who all came to observe or perhaps
to participate…The oversized photos on the walls are captivating and scream New York in all their bearings – experimental
yet full of luxury and exuding warmth while drawing you in all along... and you forget that in you are in the presence of making
of high art, you forget because you’re home in New York, among your friends (real and from TV :-)

New York has often been criticized for its lack of affordable residential architectural wonders. The trendy Redhook has finally
rebuffed with the most astounding little 3-story townhouse on Degraw, which sprouted with verve & buoyancy in recent
months from what feels like the pages of European section in The Architectural Review magazine.
Perhaps this is going to become one of those rare locations, where the place will make the individuals, enhancing their
view of reality through huge mesmerizing multi-dimensional windows, soaring ceilings and terraces by the willow trees overlooking
the famous Columbia Street. There is however another supreme gem that suddenly unfolds once you are at
the penthouse – a straight line into glorious continuous New York waterline with Lady Liberty watching over and magical
feeling that pursuit of happiness is now reached!
